PORTH

Porth & Porth Beach
ChloBo Cottage is just a short walk from Porth Beach. Porth is the kind of beach that kids dream of with soft sand and rock pools galore. Located on the north coast of Cornwall it has a stream flowing down to the shoreline and even an island with a wooden bridge across to it (which forms part of a lovely short coastal walk).
Porth Beach is easily accessible from the road and a great place for kids to play. It’s got a great deal of shelter compared to many of the beaches nearby. Rock pools and a stream make it a perfect place to spend the whole day with little ones. Lifeguards patrol the beach from May to September, making it safe for swimming and bodyboarding.
Even during the height of summer, Porth provides a sense of peace, with a coffee shop, restaurant and pub right next to the beach. If you fancy a bite to eat, The Mermaid Inn is the local pub serving amazing home-cooked food. Traditional pub classics such as moules marinière, cod and chips, steaks and burgers, plus ploughman’s lunches and baguettes and a whopping carvery on Sundays. The best part is the view – located right on the beach front with a lovely terrace area on the sands.
Porth is also lucky enough to have one of the coolest beach-style shops in the whole of Cornwall – Roo’s Beach. Roos Beach is a beach boutique with a difference. With two stores located in Porth and Mawgan Porth. You’ll find beach-cool designer clothes and homewares hand-sourced by the owner. From colourful Sunnylife beach radio’s to Korres natural beauty products, Beck Sondergaard scarfs to Triwa sunglasses, Stance socks and Beach Toes nail varnish… if you’re looking for the ultimate beach gift, this is the place to visit.
